Gratitude

On any given day, when I make the effort, I can generate a long list of what I am grateful for. I have also found that gratitude contributes to happiness. It is difficult to feel truly grateful and angry at the same time, for example. Today, I feel grateful for cooler weather, hot coffee, a loving partner, a clear and creative mind, flannel pajamas, humor, songs that seem to speak right to me and what I am feeling, the gym, having gotten out of town for a weekend, butternut squash ravioli, my 2-year-old niece, my friends and their ability to express their appreciation for me, and the glorious opportunity to create and design my life as I want it to be, no matter how much of a challenge that can sometimes be!
